My sincere condolences to family. John was a man, a good man, but I often thought of him as a little boy full of curiosity and wonder. He is on a new adventure. He was my friend. I will miss him.

My condolences to John's family and friends. I, too, was a member of the Maple Ave gang and my brother Randy was a very good friend of John's, and a 1958 Keyser high school classmate. I also worked a summer job at his father Melvin's Esso service station. We were very fortunate kids to be raised in Keyser, and I still recall those fun times with the "Maple Avenue Gang". With best regards, Jerry Pifer

My condolences to John's family. He was a wonderful classmate and friend. John's grandmother, Phoebe, was our next door neighbor and John spent many days of each year on Maple Avenue---we became close friends growing up. We called him, with great admiration, "Tank"---because he was large in stature and larger than life. I have thought of him so often in the years since high school and I cannot convey strongly enough to his family what a remarkable gentle giant he was. A great laugh, a teriffic intellect, and a man who created friends wherever he met. Rest assured that his legacy is felt, and we, the KHS class of'58, miss our brother dearly.

My heartfelt sympathy to John's family and sister Anne. John and I attended Sunday
School at Keyser Pres Church and then grade school and high school being in home
rooms together for 12 years. John was always a kind individual and had many friends.
Last saw him at our 45th KHS class reunion. If it was his time the Lord was good to him. No suffering for which we can be grateful. God bless him. We will miss John!
You all will be in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time! Love to all Ellen

Thank you everyone for all your kind words and wonderfully touching stories about my father.
My father was a loving, caring, down-to-earth person who loved family, nature and felt at home outdoors. I have many fond memories and even though he will be missed. I believe he was able to enjoy life and experience many of the things he wanted to do. Thank you all again for your condolences and prayers for my family and I.
