Joe:
Many years have passed since we met during our Jaycee days. I pass the turnoff to Keyser WV while driving on Rt. 68 to my son's house in Shepherdstown, WV and have mentioned your name to my wife saying Joe House, my Jaycee friend lives there. So sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. Helen and I send you my best regards for your loss. My wife Helen and I just had our 60th Anniversary on Oct. 12th and have just sold our home here and will be moving to our home in Englewood, Fl in the next two weeks. I remember working at the state convention to get you elected Presudent. Those days were a great part of my life and led me to a great career as CEO of our local bank. May the good Lord Bless and keep you during this trying time.

Dear Joe, Rene', Joseph, and Family: I'm saddened by the passing of Helen. I know she had not been in good health for quite some time. God has called her home to relieve her of her ailments and troubles. I'm sorry for your loss. I recall her being a very kind-hearted, sophisticated, and intelligent woman. In a word, she was sweet. As a boy growing up, I spent quite a bit of time at the House's house playing basketball, pool, pinball, and listening to records. She was always welcoming and would offer a snack or drink. She once tended to me when I suffered a bad bloody nose while playing basketball. She was so calming & comforting as she assured me I would be O.K. I last saw Helen at an Aging & Family Services dinner my parents and I attended. This was likely in the fall of 2012. Her smile was bright that day as she interacted with the attendees and inquired as to how they were doing. She cared about people and had a way of brightening your day when she interacted with you. The loss of Helen will not only be hard for your family, but for her friends, church congregations, and the Keyser community. Our loss is heaven's gain. May our Lord Jesus comfort you as you rest in knowing that Helen is now better off. You all will be in my prayers. "Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength." -- 1 Corinthians 15:43

I am saddened by Helen's passing! She and Joe were both so kind and welcoming to me when I began instruction in the Catholic faith. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

So sorry about your mom. Losing your mother is hard. I always remember your mom being in her kitchen working on dinner when we would hang out after school sometimes and eat Doritos and drink Pepsi. She was always so cheerful and kind. Thinking of you and your family. You're in my prayers
