I am so sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. May the God of all comfort sustain you as you await the promises found at John 5:28,29 and Rev. 21:4 where God promises to do away with all the things that cause us suffering and pain including death here on the earth forever.(Psalm 37:29) It is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family at this time.

I just learned of Eddie Joe’s passing and send you my condolences. I remember Eddie Joe with nothing but fondness from when we were little kids – how we all would map out “towns” in the dirt in our backyard on the corner of First and Water, make mud pies from the same dirt, play hide and seek or Simon Says or softball in the middle of First Street. I saw him at the bank after more than 30 years away. He hadn’t changed a bit – still the same smiling, caring, compassionate person. My memories of him lift my spirits and bring nothing but a smile to my face. I hope you find comfort in the knowledge that he has always been thought of as that terrific person and friend.

I am sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. I was privileged to have Eddie as a Sunday School teacher in 5th and 6th grades. Not long after that, I began to serve as pianist at Fairview Chapel UMC. Eddie came to Fairview Chapel one Sunday to be a lay speaker, and I still remember the hymns he chose for that service many years ago (around 2000-01). I thought of this almost immediately after I found out. I will leave the lyrics here. The hymn is #338 in the UMH

I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.

Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow;
I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.

I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.

Dear Kight Family,

I was so saddened to hear the news about Eddie. He was such a positive role model for me when I was growing up, and he led by example, always charitably and with humility, in his service to the church and community. I feel honored to have known him and blessed for the impact he had on my life.

My thought and prayers are with you all.

My deepest condolences,
Benjie Peters

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Matthew 25:35-40
This is precisely the way that Eddie lived his life on a daily basis! On Tuesday, Oct 17th, when he entered into paradise, the Master most surely said, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:21
Rest in peace, my good friend, rest in peace!

Dear Eddie, My brother by choice....I will miss you. You were so very good to me, to my sisters Marcella and Margo, my brother Davey, my cousin Vera, my best friend Candy, friends/family/neighbors Georgie, Chip and Aunt Jo, and my parents Johnny and Butch. You were so good to everyone!

I will never forget the pizza fights, the leaf book project, the snoopy yard ornament you helped me paint, the ice skating on New Creek, and the long nights of you and my mom playing canasta, as well as the endless laughs we shared amongst us all. You will always be treasured in the Isenberg Family! The time you spent with us-was valuable and immeasurable. My only regret is not having told you so. I love you Eddie!!

To DiAnn, Jim, and families.....I'm so sorry for you loss. A true Angel has gone home!

Love, Peanut

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Eddie Joe. He is in so many of my Water Street memories, which are flooding into my mind as I write this. He always looked after the younger children in the neighborhood. He had such a great sense of humor, but he will be remembered most for his kind and selfless actions. He was such a sweet and sensitive man. I never see a bleeding heart or snapdragon without thinking of him. His long life is a testament to your mother's care when he was young. May you find peace in your memories and knowing he is in his eternal home. Love, Debbie
