Wilma love(Thompson) Ravenscroft-97- was born On January 17, 1929 in Cumberland, Md. Wilma went to be with the lord and savior on Monday March 9, 2026 at Keyser Healthcare. Preceded in death by her parents Arch H Thompson and Margaret Love Thompson, her late husband Donald Howard Ravenscroft and her nephew Samuel Walker, a niece Kathy Darian also her sisters Marion Jane Walker and Carol Thompson Lee.
Wilma was a 1947 Graduate of Central High School in Lonaconing, MD followed by one year at Cathermans business school in Cumberland MD. After Cathermans, she went to work at Buchanan Lumber Company as a secretary/payroll clerk for 5 years. Then she married June 15, 1952 to Donald Howard Ravenscroft Sr. and then in 1953, she had a son Donald Howard Ravenscroft Jr.
Then in 1961 was employed by a legal firm in Keyser for 31 yrs until she retired in 1988. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Keyser, WV and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Keyser, WV. She is survived by her son Donald h Ravenscroft Jr and a numerous number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Tuesday March 17, 2026, 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert L. Oakley, Jr. officiating. At Wilma’s request services there will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers please donate to the League for Crippled Children, P.O. Box 267 Cumberland MD 21501-0267. She also wanted to thank Tonya Marquez, Sylvia Lee, Betsy Higgins and Dale Redman for all of her love and support for myself and my son.
