William Edward “Ed” Mullan

     BARTON, MD - William Edward “Ed” Mullan, 87, of Barton, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at his residence.

     Born on November 14, 1935 in Piedmont, WV, he was the son of the late Paul Edward and Mary Katherine (Shoemaker) Mullan. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine Johnson, Betty Uptmor, Jean Cole and Nancy Blamer.

     Ed graduated from Piedmont High School, Class of 1953, attended Potomac State College and retired from Penn Ventilator as a Machinist. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

     Surviving are his loving wife Mary Lynn (Broadwater) Mullan; his children, Patricia Mullan, Glenn Mullan, Doug Mullan, Ryan Mullan, Jennifer Mullan, Elizabeth Broadwater and Autumn Layton and his grandchildren, Katie Broadwater, Levi Broadwater, MacKenzie Fey, Alex Layton, RJ Layton, Jaina Mullan, Ava Mullan, Jordan Mullan, Madilynn Warnick and Annie Mullan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     In respecting Ed’s wishes, his body was cremated. A visitation will be held at the Markwood Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 6:00- 8:00pm.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
