William “Bill” Harman, Sr.

     KEYSER, WV – William “Bill” Harman, Sr., 80, of Keyser, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. 

     Born on December 15, 1942 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late S. Earl and Thelma L. (Roberts) Harman.  In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his sisters, Janet Lou Harman and Sharon Leigh Bosley. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

     Bill graduated from Keyser High School, Class of 1960. He was employed by Meade/Westvaco in the maintenance department for 43 years before he retired as a Roll Grinder in 2005.

     He was active in community and was a member of the Keyser Fire Department for 59 years where he served as Chief Engineer, Captain and Trustee, a member of The West Virginia State Fireman’s Association and a lifetime member of the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Fireman’s Association. He also was a social member of the Keyser VFW Post #3518 and of the Rt 50 Hunting Club and a member of the Keyser Lodge #662 Loyal Order of Moose which he served as past Governor.  

     Bill was a kind and caring person always willing to help others to the best of his abilities. He helped so many people over the years that he became known as Mr. Fixit. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

     Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his loving wife, Darlene (Moore) Harman and his children, William Harman, Jr. and wife Karla, Robin Rotruck and husband Chris, Jeffrey Harman, Sr. and wife Sabrina, Gina Kiser and Misti Mills. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jamie Lesniowski and husband John, Derrick Harman and fiancée Kierra, Nicholas Rotruck and wife Ashley, Jeffrey Harman, Jr. and companion Katie, Ashley Pyne and husband Bryan, Autumn Kiser and fiancé Randy, Myriah Hines and companion Kyle, Jenaya Hines and companion Tré, Justin McKenzie and companion Lauren, Amanda Mills and companion Ryan, Teddy Weasenforth and wife Brittany, Cory Weasenforth and companion Faith and Payton Weasenforth and wife Taylor and his 19 great-grandchildren.

      An announced celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
