William Irving “Bill” Athey
KEYSER, WV – William Irving “Bill” Athey, 78, of Keyser, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at his residence.
Born on March 4, 1943 in Keyser, he was the son of the late Irving Thomas “Doc” and J. Allene (Wageley) Athey.
Bill graduated from Keyser High School, Class of 1961, attended Potomac State College and graduated from Frostburg State in Elementary Education. A retired local Businessman and Entrepreneur, he held many titles from Restaurant Owner to Wholesaler. He was a faithful member of Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church and a member of the Headsville Countryside Ruritan Club. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Surviving are his loving wife, Judy Lois (Taylor) Athey and his son, Clinton William “Clint” Athey whom he dearly cherished.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, 11585 Knobley Road, Keyser at 1:30pm with the Reverend Marshall Woods. Friends will be received 30 minutes prior to services. Interment will follow in Cabin Run Cemetery.
