Wayman Donald “Sonny” Hoalcraft

     BURLINGTON, WV – Wayman Donald “Sonny” Hoalcraft, 90, of Burlington, died December 5, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

     Born December 1, 1933 In Pennsboro, WV, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Ruby (Towner) Hoalcraft.

     Sonny was retired from Potomac State College as a farm manager with 37 years of service and also had a farm of his own. He was a helper with Potomac State College AG Club, affiliated with the Farm Service Agency and the Mineral County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a former member of Southern States Cooperative. He was a member Knobley Covenant Brethren Church.

      Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Helen Marie (Taylor) Hoalcraft; his three sons, Clyde Hoalcraft and wife Rita of Burlington., Rex Hoalcraft and wife Renee of Westernport, MD, and Kevin A. Hoalcraft and wife Patricia of Burlington; his brother, Rufus E Hoalcraft and wife Nancy of Mineral Wells, WV; his sister-in-law, Mary Richards and husband Arnold of Harrisville, WV.  He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Adam Hoalcraft and wife Joslyn of Flemington, WV, Sarah J. Trottier and husband Marc of Oakland, MD,  Clinton Hoalcraft and wife Adrienne of Fairmont, Christy Cobham and husband Carlos of  Huntersville, NC, Erin Tiffany and husband Nicholas of Clarksville, MD, Rex Hoalcraft, Jr. of Oakland, MD, Roxanne Hoalcraft and special friend Scott of  Deer Park, MD, Clifton “CR:” Biser and wife Ashley of Moulton, AL, William Hoalcraft and wife Camilla of Fort Ashby and Shanese Westfall and husband Aaron of Keyser; his 13 great-grandchildren, Starlet Trottier, Riker Hoalcraft, Charlotte Hoalcraft, Alicia Cobham, Pierce Cobham, Vivienne Cobham, Jackson Cobham, Brooke Tiffany, Blake Tiffany, Jeremy Hoalcraft, Nevin Hoalcraft, Jake Hoalcraft, and Eliana Biser.

       Friends and family will be received at Knobley Covenant Brethren Church, New Creek, on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 1:30-2:30 p.m.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m. with the Reverend Roger Leatherman officiating.  

      Interment will be in Knobley Memorial Cemetery.
