Walter Floyd Ours, Jr. , 96 of Keyser, West Virginia passed away on January 25, 2026 at WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital. He was born February 5, 1929 in Cross, WV, the son of the late Walter Floyd Ours, Sr. and Mildred J. Kight Ours of Cross, WV.
He was a graduate of Piedmont High School, and attended Potomac State College. Walter worked as a car repairman for the CSX Railroad. He was a man of faith and Assemblies of God by faith. Walter was a United States Army Veteran.
Surviving are his loving wife; Delana L. Mercer Ours; three brothers; Kenneth Ours and wife Norma of New Creek, WV; Paul Richard Ours and wife Carol, of New Creek, WV; and John Ours of Rawlings, MD. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Louise Ours of Clarksville, TN; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he is preceded by his first wife, Jane Ours in 1999; two sisters, Jean Whisner and husband Satorious (Ike) of New Creek,WV; Maxine Metz and husband Melvin (Bucky) of Elyria, OH; three brothers; Harry Ours of Clarksville, TN; Wayne E. Ours of New Creek, WV and James Ours and wife Nadine of Martinsburg, WV; and two sisters-In-Law: Christine Ours and Mary Ours.
Family will receive friends at Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, January 30th, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with his brother Rev. Kenneth Ours and Paul Baker officiating. Private interment will follow at Potomac Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
