Thomas J. “Tom” Sauer

     KEYSER, WV - Thomas J. “Tom” Sauer, 80, of Keyser, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Piney Valley Nursing Home.

     Born on February 15, 1938, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Mildred (Tomzak) Sauer. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife Gisela Sauer on January 17, 2011.

     Tom retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Knights of Columbus Council 10545 of Keyser, Fountain Ruritan and Mountain Side Marines Detachment # 1071.

     Surviving are his good friends, Gary L. and Betty Cannon of Keyser.

     A Christian Burial Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption, 34 James Street, Keyser, WV on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11:00 am with Fr. Binoy Thomas, CST as Celebrant.  Friends will be received one hour prior to service.

     Inurnment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by United States National Army Honor Guard and Mountain Side Marines Detachment # 1071.
