Sue Ann Spotts

     KEYSER, W.Va. - Sue Ann Spotts, 85, of Keyser, died Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Keyser Healthcare Center.

     Born February 23, 1938 in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Frank Sagal and Mary (Corbacio) Sagal.  She also was preceded in death by her son, Sgt. William K. Spotts, III, USMC; a brother, Frank Sagal, Jr. and two sisters, Nancy L. Faulk and Eleanor Broadwater.

     Mrs. Spotts was retired from North Arundel Hospital, Glen Burnie, Md. as a Registered Nurse and was the first Nursing Assistant Teacher at the Keyser Vo-Tech.  She was a 1956 graduate of Keyser High School, a 1959 graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing and attended WV Institute of Technology.  She was a member of the Church of the Assumption where she served as Church Lector, Eucharistic Minister and C.C.D. Teacher.

     Surviving are her son, Michael Spotts of Keyser; two daughters, Karen Sue Caponiti and husband Phil of Brooklyn, NY and Maria Burgess and partner Andy Cosner of Keyser; five grandchildren, Ryan Spotts and wife Jocelyn, Cody Spotts  and wife Cheyanne, Austin Burgess, Brady Spotts and Alexis Spotts; three great-grandchildren, Easton Spotts, Elora Spotts and Veronica Spotts; one brother, Joseph Sagal; three sisters, Mary Frances Hickman and husband, Carlos, Barbara Ravenscroft and husband, Charles and Kathy Finnell and husband, Thomas.  She is also survived by a several nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00pm. 

      Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Keyser on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 11:00am with Father Thomas Sebastian, CST as celebrant.

     Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.
