Sammy Fazzalore Obituary

Sammy William "Sam" Fazzalore, 84, of Keyser, left this world on February 19, 2026, at the Keyser Healthcare Center.

Born on June 4, 1941, in Cumberland, Maryland, Sam was the son of the late Rose Fazzalore. He was a proud graduate of Keyser High School, class of 1959, and remained a devoted member of the Church of the Assumption and the Knights of Columbus Council 10545 Keyser, West Virgnia.

Sam dedicated his career to Meade Westvaco Paper Maker - Pulp and Paper Company, where he retired as the Assistant Head Trucker in the Welding Department. He was known for his strong work ethic, warmth, and willingness to lend a hand to friends and neighbors alike.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Gardine Fazzalore, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He leaves behind a son, Anthony M. "Tony" Fazzalore, and his wife Karen; a daughter, Marla Fazzalore; and six cherished grandchildren: Destinee Wright and husband Josh, , Kayla Mortin and husband Michael, Alyssa Fazzalore, Brandon Fazzalore, Alex Fazzalore, and Savannah Fazzalore, all of Keyser. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Marvin G. Whetzel  and several nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Bonnie Louise Whetzel.

Family and friends will be received at Markwood Funeral Home on Monday February 23, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Christian Wake service at 7:00 p.m. to close the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption in Keyser on Tuesday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Thomas Sebastian officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.

Sam will be remembered for his unyielding kindness, love for family, and deep faith, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and commitment to all.
