Robert E. “Little Bob-Frye” Dorsey

     KEYSER, WV - Robert E. “Little Bob-Frye” Dorsey, 93, of Keyser, died on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his residence.

     Born on November 25, 1928 in Deer Park, Maryland, he was a son of the late Robert E. Dorsey, Sr. and Florence (Junkins) Dorsey. He is also preceded in death by his two wives, Patricia (Collins) Dorsey in 1986 and Janet Y. “Bonnie” (Blackburn) Dorsey in 1992; his son, Brian D. Dorsey; his siblings, Don Junkins, Mary Janice Wippel, Vivian J Hovatter and triplets, Joseph Patrick Dorsey, Eugene “Case” Dorsey and Sandra Kirtley. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  

     Bobby graduated from Keyser High School, Class of 1946 and was the first ever recipient of the J. Edward Kelley Award. He retired as a Car Foreman for the CSX Railroad, Car Department after 44 years and was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Keyser, K of C Council 10545, Queens Point VFW Post 6775, Loyal Order of the Moose #622 and the J. Edward Kelley Society. He was an amazing athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track. In his free time he loved golfing and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all.

     Surviving are his children, Robert Kevin Dorsey and wife Paula, Shaun Patrick Dorsey and wife Robin both of Keyser and Dr. Daniel C. Dorsey of NY; his stepchildren, John Fanto, II and Pam Schade; his grandchildren, Caitlin Logsdon, Ian, Michaela, Grace and Diana Dorsey, Allyssa Haggerty and Katie and Adam Galbraith; two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Naverelle and a brother-in-law, Marion Dorsey. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Memorial Contributions may be made in honor of Mr. Dorsey to the J. Edward Kelley Society, P.O. Box 1274, Keyser, WV 26726

     Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a Christian Wake Service following at 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, 34 James Street, Keyser on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00am with Fr. Thomas Sebastian, CST as celebrant. Interment will follow services in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser with Military Honors accorded by U.S. Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 13 Honor Guard.
