Robert Lee Hopkins, Sr.

     KEYSER, WV - Robert Lee Hopkins, Sr., 72, of Keyser, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at his residence.

     Born on June 23, 1949 in Beryl, his was the son of the late Charles “Hoppy” and Alice Elizabeth “Sis” (Virts) Hopkins.

     Robert graduated from Piedmont High School, was a former prep plant Supervisor for Masteller Coal Company and retired from ATK. He was a member of Mountain Top Hunting Club, an outdoorsman who was an avid hunter and Fisherman and a Protestant by faith. He was a loving husband of 52 years and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

     Surviving are his wife, Sue (Smith) Hopkins; sons, Robert Hopkins, Jr. and wife Dianna and Joseph Hopkins and wife Charitie; a brother, Steve Hopkins; three sisters, Kathleen Ravenscroft and husband Roger, Anna White and husband Melvin and Judy Williamson and fiancé Victor Cook and his grandchildren, Ashley Hopkins, Dylan Hopkins, Whitney Parrish, Dustin Hopkins, Tyler Hopkins, Elyissa Hopkins and Aliza Hopkins. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Brooke Wright, Kayden Wright, Jayden O’ Haver and Jasper Hopkins; brothers-in-law, Douglas Smith, Terry Smith and Michael Smith and his sisters-in-law, Marsha Dawson and husband David, Donna McCleary and husband Mike, Joan Imperio and husband Tim and Tina Beckman and husband Keith.

     Friends will be received on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 233 South Mineral Street, Keyser, WV at 11:00am with the Reverend Dan Biser officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in St. Thomas Cemetery.
