Raymond "Larry" Newhouse

Raymond "Larry" Newhouse, 78, of Keyser, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026 in Clarksburg, WV. Born on September 11, 1947, in Keyser, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John Ervin Newhouse and Jean Delores Cline.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Larry served his country with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he worked as a sheet metal worker at Keyser Stainless, a supervisor at Kraft Foods in Winchester, Virginia, and delivered parts for Advance Auto Parts.

Larry was a man of faith and attended Grace United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Boyce Houser Post #41, where he found camaraderie and shared his enduring patriotism. Known for his friendly demeanor, kind spirit and love of fast cars, Larry never met a person he didn’t consider a friend.

He is survived by his three daughters: Gina McCann and her husband Glenn of Belmont, New Hampshire; Candy Shillingburg and her husband John of New Creek, West Virginia; and Allison Newhouse and J.W. Lyons of Maysville. He was a proud grandfather to Matthew Shillingburg and his wife Abby, Kristina Shillingburg, Justin Shillingburg, Kyleigh Shillingburg, Cameron Shillingburg, Autumn Shillingburg, Wyatt Shillingburg, Madison Lyons, Andrew McCann and his wife Lauren.  Additionally, Larry is survived by three great-grandchildren, Rowan and Sidney Shillingburg and Brooks McCann.

He is also survived by his brothers: John Saville and his wife Helen of Purgitsville; Denzil L. "Denny" Newhouse of Keyser; Chris Newhouse and his wife Lori of Keyser; and Kelly Newhouse of Keyser.

May Larry’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Viewing will be held on July 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at Markwood Funeral Home 111 S. Mineral St. A Funeral Service will be held on July 3, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Markwood Funeral Home 111 S. Mineral St with Rev. John Langenstein officiating. Entombment will follow at Potomac Memorial Gardens Keyser, WV with military honors provided by WV Army National Guard and American Legion Boyce-Houser Post #41.
