Ralph “Wayne” Biggs

     WESTERNPORT, MD – Ralph “Wayne” Biggs, 73, of Westernport Road, Westernport, died Friday, January 18, 2008, at his residence.

     Born October 3, 1934 in Westernport, he was a son of the late Ralph P. and Margaret (Wilkinson) Biggs. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Eric P. Biggs, II and a brother, William Biggs.

     Wayne was a 1952 graduate of Bruce High School, a U.S. Army veteran and retired in 1996 from Westvaco with 44 years of service.  He was a member of Hiram Lodge #103, AF & AM, Sons of the American Legion, WV Detachment, Squad #52 of Piedmont, Genealogical Society of Garrett County, Genealogical Society of Allegany County, Historical Society of Westernport, Loyal Order of Moose #662 and United Methodist by faith.

      Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Patricia “Pat” (Kesecker) Biggs; his two daughters, Denise Buterbaugh and husband Brian of Cumberland and Suzanne Biggs and companion Tom Wilson of Westernport; adopted son Eric Biggs and wife Michelle; his sister, Marjorie Thomas and husband Alan of Vinton, VA; his two very special grandchildren Jennifer Biddle and Logan Wittman and grandchildren, Hannah, Dalton and Michelle; step-grandchildren, Morgan, Kelsey, Tyler and Tarin.  He is also survived by his two special nieces Cathie Stermer and Linda Bishop; mother-in-law, Florence (Biermann) Kesecker of New Creek; sister-in-law, Barbara (Kesecker) Miller and husband Robert of Keyser, and brother-in-law, Brian Kesecker and wife Linda of New Creek

     Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser on Monday, January 21, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 with the Reverend Robert Nealis and the Reverend Louise Nealis officiating.

     Interment will follow in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.  Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.

     Hiram Lodge #103, AF & AM will hold a memorial service Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
