Norman Parks Obituary

    

    Norman Alfred Parks went to be with his lord on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia surrounded by his family.

    Born on February 14, 1936 in Vindex, Maryland, he was a son of the late Frank and Pearl (Wolfe) Parks.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Beatrice Haywood and Noami Barr.

    Norman was a 1954 graduate of Elk Garden High School and Electrician for the Electrical Workers Union Local 307 and later his own business Parks and Sons Excavating for 50 years. He also was a member of Davis Lodge No. 51 AF & AM of Keyser.

    Although his work was his passion, he enjoyed his trips to Florida riding motorcycle with his friends, sitting on the back porch enjoying the sun, and admiring his tomato plants. He loved being around his grandkids.

    He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Rose Ella (Landon) Parks; four children: David Parks and wife Earlene, Diane Hoover and husband the late Dale Hoover, Deborah Gambini and husband David, Daniel Parks and wife Ruda; seven grandchildren: Anita Meyer, Joshua Parks, Aaron Parks, Aimee Milla, Mattea Gambini, Ezra Parks, and Edan Parks .

     Also to cherish his memory are two step-great grandchildren, Luke Hoover and Nicholas Hoover; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Elwood Parks and wife Rebecca of Swanton, MD; numerous nieces and nephews and a brother of heart, James Evans and Rosealee of Oakland, MD.

     The family would like to offer a special thank you to the amazing staffs at Valley Medical Home Health Potomac Valley, Garrett Memorial 3rd floor and Ruby Memorial 7th East Floor and 5th floor SICU.

    Family and friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 1-2pm.  Funeral Services will be held after the visitation at the funeral home at 2pm with the Reverend Robert Oakley, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens.

    Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choosing.  Norman will be truly missed by all who knew him.
