Norma Virginia “Susie” (Baker) Newbraugh
Georgetown, KY - Norma Virginia “Susie” (Baker) Newbraugh, 85, formerly of Keyser passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 at her residence.
Born on December 2, 1938, in Westernport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Melvin and Helen Virginia (Biggs) Baker. She is also preceded in death by her husband Carroll Lynwood Newbraugh on March 24, 2017 and her infant sister, Joan Baker.
Norma graduated from Piedmont High School, Class of 1956 and attended Potomac State College before earning her BA at Shepherd College in 1960. She was a former Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration and was a member of the Living Water United Brethren Church in Winchester, VA.
Susie was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and was a genealogy enthusiast. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Left to cherish in her memory are her son, Carroll Lynwood “Lynn” Newbraugh and wife Donna of Georgetown; her granddaughters, Mary Cornell and husband Jason of Sadieville, KY and Carol Newbraugh of Frankfort, KY and her sisters, Sara Harman and Lisa Baker both of Keyser. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Norma Newbraugh to the Fountain United Brethren Church Missions, 11585 Knobley Road, Keyser, WV 26726.
Funeral and committal services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Chapel at Noon with Reverend Doug Shelton and Reverend Kenny Mason officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the services at the Fountain United Brethren Church, Keyser.
Arrangements have been entrusted in the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
