Norma Jean (Bean) Welton
OLDTOWN, MD – Norma Jean (Bean) Welton, 87, of Oldtown, MD, died on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Fox Trail Assisted Living in Stephens City, Virginia.
Born Saturday, July 29, 1933 in Cross, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Arthur L. Bean, Sr. and Viola Hazel (Paugh) Bean. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur L. Bean, Jr., Ronald Wayne Bean, Norris E. Bean and Marvin Bean; her sister, Betty Lee Kitzmiller; her niece, Betty Jean Kitzmiller and a grandson, Aaron Waugh. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Norma attended Elk Garden High School and was a former member of Pentecostal Church of Cross, WV. She was a devoted housewife and loving mother of three daughters, who are all registered nurses. She also had a love for animals.
Survived by her husband, Wright M. Welton; three daughters, Linda Jean Welton of Oldtown, MD, Vickie Ann Grogg and husband Dale of Paw Paw, WV and Diane Adair Thayer and husband Mike of Whitacre, VA; her grandchildren, Timothy Waugh and wife Tina, Wright Wilson and companion Stacy and Zachary Wilson and Fiancée Pippa. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Trenton Waugh, Taylor Waugh, Tanner Waugh, Hanna Wilson and Aeron Wilson; a special nephew, Brian Bean of Glengary, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Markwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Funeral services will be held after the visitation at 1:00pm with the Reverend Paul D. Allen, Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Keyser, West Virginia.
