Norma (Pancake) Ellifritz
NEW CREEK, WV – Norma (Pancake) Ellifritz, 95, of New Creek, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Stonerise of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born on October 13, 1926 in Claysville, WV she was a daughter of the late Albert and Clarissa Marie (Barb) Pancake. She is also preceded in death by her husband, George W. Ellifritz; daughters, Clarissa Sue Potts and Hazel K. “Kathy” Conrad and husband Stanley and brothers, Infant Ervin, Joseph, Robert and Larry Pancake.
Norma graduated from Potomac State College and West Virginia University earning her BS in Elementary Education and MS in Special Education. She was a retired Mineral County School Teacher and taught in Fountain, New Creek, and retired from Elk Garden. Attended Sunnyside Church of the Brethren and was a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church and the VFW Queens Point Memorial Post 6775 Auxiliary. She was an avid bird and deer watcher and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Lou Saville and husband Donald of Keyser; her sister, Hilda Stead of Whitsett, NC; her granddaughters, Marsha J. Gifford and husband Bobby and Sarah E. Potts; grandson, Brian T. Potts and wife Tiffany; son-in-law, Charles E. Potts, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Abigail McQuiston; sisters-in-law, Mabel Pancake, Patricia Pancake, Lois Rohrbaugh and husband Dave, and Patsy High and husband Kevin; and three step grandchildren, Jennifer Saville, Candy Stevens and Donald Saville, III. She is also survived by eight step great grandchildren, five step-great- great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 11:00am -1:00pm. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00pm with Reverend Vickie Minnich and nephew, Andrew Pancake. Interment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens.
