Mildred Grace “Midge” Nofsinger
TAMPA, FL - Mildred Grace Nofsinger, “Midge”, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 31, 2023, in Tampa, Florida. Midge was a graceful, beautiful woman with sparkling blue eyes and an infectious smile. Midge loved to garden, needlepoint, do crafts, cook, care for others and spoil her family. Midge was a loving wife, the best Mom and grandmother.
Midge was born in Swanton, Maryland in 1937 to David Lee McRobie and Mary Elizabeth Durst McRobie. She graduated from Bruce High School and married her high school sweetheart, Michael R. Nofsinger, of Luke, Maryland. Midge and Mike lived in several cities during their lives, finally settling in Tampa and later Orlando, Florida. After raising their daughters in Tampa, Midge and Mike relocated to the Orlando area for 30 years. Midge enjoyed being a “Pink Lady” at the hospitals in Tampa and Orlando where she brightened the days of hospital patients. She made wonderful friends in the women’s auxiliary. Midge and Mike enjoyed traveling and especially spending time in their home near Cashiers, NC. The mountains, trees, screened porch and crisp air were Midge’s favorite place to be. The grandchildren loved visiting Granny at her home in Orlando with the pool and the home in NC with the rivers and waterfalls.
Midge was predeceased by her parents, David and Mary McRobie; younger brother, John McRobie; and husband, Michael R. Nofsinger. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Wright (Hal), Kris Myerson (Ron), and Lorie Rossi (Mike). She also has five grandchildren, Kelsey and Michael Myerson, Rogan Wright, Sarah and Caroline Rossi.
Our grief is only brightened by the knowledge that Midge is reunited with the love of her life, Mike, and our Heavenly Father. A private family ceremony will be held on December 2, 2023.
