Matthew D. Borror
Matthew D. Borror, age 36, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 2, 2025 and left behind grieving family and friends.
For those who truly knew him, Matthew was the sunlight. He lit up every room. He was compassionate and caring, intelligent, witty, and a “safe place” for anyone that needed one. He loved his job on the ACT team of Cumberland because he believed if he could help just one person, he had accomplished great things.
Matthew had a passion for all things music from a young age, and he loved his bandmates in the Hounded. He loved the students who trusted him to teach them and share his passion. He found joy in photography and was blessed to work with the staff at Allegany Magazine for many years.
Matthew’s newest love was bowling and he loved his Frostburg City Bowling league and teammates. They made his week with their antics.
Matthew’s forever loves were his family, his pups, and the Washington Redskins, a love that he shared with his brother and sister. Matthew was a trivia buff. He always had all the answers.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Jerry D Borror of Keyser. His beloved grandparents, Roy and Hazel Borror and Beth Lease, his Aunt Liz Umstott who helped foster his love for music and so many other family members too numerous to mention.
He is survived by those mourning his loss. His mother and beloved bonus father, Kathy and Bobby Werner of Frostburg; his brother Erich Borror of Keyser; sisters, Carly Borror (Brian Everett) of Frostburg, Donna Heinrich (Mike) of Arizona, and Deborah Watkins (Dave) of Florida. His beloved bonus brothers and sisters, Kayla Werner (Angelo), Haleigh Brenneman (Tyler), Kloey Bowser (Mike), Emily Werner (Ryan) and Noah Werner and their children, as well as his best friends, Christina Rice and Emily Keiper and his special friend Justice Hoban. He has numerous aunts, uncles and cousins too many to mention all, but he loved each and every one.
There will be no service held at this time per Matthew’s wishes. There will be a celebration of life at 1812 Brewery in Cumberland, MD October 18, 2025 at 4:30pm. For those wishing to honor his life, please make a contribution to the Mineral County Humane Society in his memory or adopt an animal and give them a home. For those family and friends wishing to touch the family, please share your photos and memories to his Facebook. It will be memorialized.
Arrangements are being handled by the Markwood Funeral Home.
