Mary (Friend) Lee
KEYSER, WV - Mary (Friend) Lee, 82, of Keyser, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Keyser Healthcare Center.
Born on November 29, 1940 in Long Stretch Garret County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Foster Garey Friend and Edith Rose (Hone) Friend Dilley. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond W. Lee; her sisters, Theresa Klisptein, Rita Warne, Genevieve Chenette and Mariam Landis; her brothers, John T., Joseph, Leo L., Robert and Daniel Dilley and her nephew, Thomas Lee Warne. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mary graduated from Elkins High School, Davis College, Elkins College, Potomac State College and the Mineral County Vo-Tech. She was a Secretary for the State of WV and for Dr. Harry Boggs Optometry Office. She was a member of the West Virginia Public employees Association and VFW Post #6775 Queen’s Point Auxiliary and a Catholic by faith. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Left to cherish her memories are her beloved nieces, Judith A. Stoner of Hagerstown, MD and Marcia Landis; her nephew, Ken Landis, Sr. and her lifelong friend and neighbor of 44 years, Darlene L. Meek.
In respecting Mary’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. A private interment and committal will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Arrangements have been entrusted in the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
