Lionel Stephen Shillingburg

     KEYSER, WV – Lionel Stephen Shillingburg, 69, of Keyser, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland.

     Born on March 16, 1952, in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the son of the late Mike and Harlyn Shillingburg. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Michael F. Shillingburg, II.

     He retired from NewPage Corporation in March 2011 secondary to health issues yet that didn’t slow him down. Lionel loved to tinker in his garage, travel the neighborhood in his side by side, and mow acres of grass. He was a friend to many and will be missed.

     Surviving is his loving wife of 49 years, Valerie L. (Thrasher) Shillingburg; his two daughters, Jennifer Hart and husband Brandt of Ridgeley, WV and Jaime Shillingburg and husband John of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Hunter Dixon and Brittanii Dixon; his sister-in-law, Sharon (Lashley) Shillingburg; a nephew, Michael F. Shillingburg, II and wife Wendi and his three nieces, Michalle Craig and husband Keith, Stephanie Waller and husband Lee and Keri Fridley.

     Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Lionel Shillingburg to Faith in Action Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1073, Keyser, WV 26726.

     At Mr. Shillingburg’s request, his body will be cremated and there will be no visitation or services Inurnment in Queens Point Cemetery, Keyser.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
