Leonard Paul Bise
Burlington, WV - Leonard Paul Bise, 65, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland, Maryland.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Virgil and Velma (Brown) Bise. Leonard later moved to West Virginia to raise his family with his first wife, Nancy Rilla Spurling Bise, who preceded him in death in 2001. A skilled machinist and mechanic by trade, Leonard had a remarkable talent for tinkering and could fix just about anything.
Leonard had a lifelong passion for muscle cars, with his favorite being a 1969 cherry apple red Pontiac Grand Prix. A devoted General Motors enthusiast, he was known for his good-natured jokes aimed at those who drove anything else.
Above all else, Leonard cherished his family. He took immense pride in his children and loved ones, never missing an opportunity to share their accomplishments with others. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia Bise; his children, Nancy Jane Voit (Rickie), Lori Whitacre (Shaun), Daniel Bise, and Christie Hartlove (Barry); his stepson, Sam Clark (Lisa) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his beloved dog, Carmelo who was always by his side.
Leonard’s legacy of love and laughter will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those he held dear.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00pm. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00pm with Reverend Paul Demers. A private interment will be held in Kidwell Cemetery, Slanesville, WV at a later date.
