Kathryn W. Burgess
KEYSER, WV – Kathryn W. Burgess, 94, of 1335 Beacon Street, Keyser, died on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born July 31, 1913 in Plainview, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Linna M. (Goddard) Wilkinson. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, The Reverend Robert C. Simmons on October 11, 1942 and Carl W. Burgess on April 30, 2002.
Mrs. Burgess attended West Texas State College and retired as Administrative Assistant in U.S. Court of Claims of Washington, D.C. She was associated with her husband Carl in the Christmas Tree Farm Nursery. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and CEO Noontimers.
Surviving are her two daughters, Marjorie A. Carlson of Washington, D.C. and Roberta S. Steele of Naugatuck, Conn; a sister, Marjorie W. Reeve of Rock Hall, MD; numerous grandchildren and her devoted Care givers.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral home, Keyser on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend William A. Linhart officiating.
Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
