John Melvin “Jack” Kesecker

     KEYSER, WV - John Melvin “Jack” Kesecker, 84, of Keyser, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.

     Born on February 18, 1936 in Keyser, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Nellie Jeanette (Studenwalt) Kesecker. He is also preceded in death by his infant brother, Bill Kesecker; a sister, Patricia Ann “Pat” Cole; a step-son, Russell A. “Rusty” Duckworth; a nephew, Philip W. Kelly; his great nephew, Christopher W. Kelly and his brother-in-law, Bennett Roderick.

     Jack was a retired Supervisor Assistant for the West Virginia Department of Highways and a United States Air Force Veteran.  He was a Catholic by faith and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

      Surviving are his wife Ann Adaire (Racco) Kesecker; his children, John R. Kesecker and wife Lori of Martinsburg, WV and Cindi S. Bowen of Amherst, VA; his step-daughter, Lynn Michael and husband Richard of Rivesville, WV and his step-granddaughter, Dr. Cody R. Duckworth-Chambers and her husband Andrew of Richmond, VA. He is survived by three grandsons; Jacob Kesecker, Mason Bowen, Carter Bowen. He is also survived by a sister, Joy Lee Roderick, many nieces and nephews,and his dear friend, Bob King.

      In respecting Jack’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no public viewing or funeral service.  Interment will be held in Queens Point Cemetery, Keyser.

      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
