John Holden McLaughlin

     John Holden McLaughlin, 66, of Keyser, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1956 in Keyser, WV to the late John and Joann McLaughlin.

     John grew up in Keyser, WV and was a graduate of Keyser High School. He also attended vocational school in Keyser.  John worked as welder in the maintenance division at Verso Paper Mill. He retired after 35 years of employment. He was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Church.

     John was an avid fisherman and loved canoeing on the South Branch. He was a dedicated fan to the Washington Redskins and West Virginia Mountaineers. He enjoyed watching football, fishing, and hanging out with his friends at Morans. He also enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren.

     John is survived by his two children, Joshua McLaughlin (Jessica) of Winchester, VA, Ashley McDonough (Patrick) of Ridgeley, WV; five grandchildren, Haley and Macy Peterson, Elijah McLaughlin, Tucker and Macklen McDonough; three sisters, Linda McLaughlin, Lana Allen (Tom), June Cappello (Roger); his nephew Zack Cappello; his niece Jesse Amos; and he had many close friends. He is also survived by his pride and joy, his dog Rufus.

     Friends and family visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 1pm-3pm. A memorial service will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 3pm with Pastor Jerry Eisenhour officiating.

     Arrangements are entrusted to Markwood Funeral Homes-Keyser, WV.
