Joe Etta Caldwell
KEYSER, W.Va. – Joe Etta (Kiggins) Caldwell, 82, of Keyser, went to be with God on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at her home.
Born April 2, 1938 in New Creek, she was a daughter of the late Frances D. (Liller) Kiggins and Clarence Kiggins. Her parents divorced when she was six and her mom married Ernest F. Hickle when she and her twin, Joann Lee Miller were 11. Ernest Was an A+ stepfather.
Joe Etta’s first husband, Don Louie McDonald was the father of her twin daughters, Luetta Lynn McDonald and Loretta Lee McDonald. Don died in 1973. She married Douglas Lynn Caldwell in 1977 and they lived at Rt. 5, box 46, Keyser all of their married life. Doug was so important in raising her daughters. They called the place their little piece of Heaven.
She was a Methodist by faith and attended Rees Chapel United Methodist Church, New Creek. She was protestant by faith and faith and loved the Lord. She was able to be a homemaker for her family and also to be employed in a variety of careers in the business world.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Douglas Lynn Caldwell and her daughters, Luetta and Loretta McDonald, all of Keyser; her twin sister, Joann Lee Miller and her husband Curtis B. Miller of Burlington, and her brother Delbert L. Kiggins and wife, Betty (Barnhouse) Kiggins of Burlington. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and their children.
A burial service held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Potomac Memorial Gardens. Memorial Service will be held at the Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
Due to the current health concerns, all guests are required to wear face masks and exercise social distancing at all time.
