Jane Susan Staggs
KEYSER, WV – Jane Susan Staggs, 72, Keyser, passed away holding her sister’s hand on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her sister’s home in Uniontown, PA surrounded by family.
Born on February 21, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Arnold D. “Andy” and Donna Lou (King) Staggs.
Jane graduated from the Romney School for the Deaf and Blind, Class of 1969 and from the WV Vocational Rehabilitation Center, Institute, WV. She was a former Keypunch Operator at WV State Capital in Charleston and at the WV Vocational Rehabilitation Office and was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, Keyser.
She moved into the Potomac Heights Apartments on February 1, 1981 and was the longest Residence to reside there. She was an avid football fan, the New York Jets being her favorite team of all time rather they were winning or losing. She was so cheerful and always had a bright smile on her face no matter what. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her loving sister, Deborah A. Hoover and husband Charles of Uniontown, PA; her beloved nephew, Matthew C. Hoover and wife Meghan of Tampa, FL and her great-nephew, Hudson whom she adored. She is also survived by her special friends, Debbie Seldomridge; Bob King and Dr. Martie Helmick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Jane S. Staggs to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21541.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to the Dr. Zaman, Amber and staff at UMPC Cancer Center; Darla, Rosetta and staff of Mountain State Hospice for all their compassionate and the care they gave to Jane and Manager Karen and Junior from Potomac Heights Apartments for the kindness and support they showed her. We would also like to Thank Dean Nofsinger, Marlena and the staff at the Markwood Funeral Home for the love, kindness and support during this difficult time.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00pm with the Reverend Shirley Reed officiating. Interment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens.
