James Milton “Perky” Morris

     KEYSER, WV – James Milton “Perky” Morris, 67, of Keyser, formerly of Bayard, WV, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. 

     Born on November 12, 1957, at Garrett Memorial Hospital in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Edward W. Morris, Sr. and Nola Margaret (Nestor) Morris. He is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Edward W. Morris, Jr. and Thomas Morris.

     James graduated from Union High School in Mt. Storm, WV and retired as a Plant Manager for Alleghany Wood Products after 48 years of service. He was an active and faithful member of the Job Church of God in Harman, WV and previous member of the Bayard Fire Department.

     Perky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

     Left to cherish in his memory are his loving wife, Erin M. (Marple) Morris; his only son, Daniel Morris; his three grandchildren, Bryson Fazenbaker, Maddelynn Morris and James E. Morris; a sister, Sandra Keplinger and husband Dwight of Lahmansville, WV; his sister-in-law, Jung-Sun Morris of El Paso, TX and mother-in-law, Beverly (Marple) Noonan. He is also survived by his eight nieces and nephews.

       Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00am with Reverend Todd Rhodes officiating. Visitation one hour prior to funeral services. Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
