James Donald “Don” Seibel

     KEYSER, WV – James Donald “Don” Seibel, 93, of Keyser, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at WVU Medicine Potomac Valley hospital.

     Born on August 11, 1929 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Frank L. and Margaret A. (Kane) Seibel. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores E. “Dee” Seibel; his son, Donnie Seibel; brothers, Leo Seibel and Francis L. Seibel and his three sisters, Rita Seibel, Elda Seibel and Lola (Seibel) Reigel and his son-in-law, Chris Nasser. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.

     Don graduated from Brownsville High School, where his was a Track star, played football, a member of the band and accomplished singer. He was drafted in the United States Army during the Korean War, 707 AAA, from 1951 -1953, afterwards he continued his education at California University and Pennsylvania State University where he earn his BA Degree in Business Administration. He served as the Keyser Housing Authority Commissioner for 34 years and formerly worked for HP Store, GC Murphy, Prudential Life Insurance and Mineral County Insurance Center/BGSG. He was a member of the Rotary International, Knights of Columbus Council 586 in Cumberland, MD, Boyce House Post 41 American Legion and the Church of the Assumption and also enjoyed attending the St. Peters Church in Westernport, MD.  He was active in volunteering and community support programs and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

     Surviving are his sons, Tim Seibel and wife Tina, Chris Seibel and companion Jana Miller; daughter, Donna E. Nasser; granddaughters, Briana Seibel and Ginger Seibel; grandsons, Tim Seibel and wife Angela and Colin Nasser; his great-grandchildren, Carliegh and Conner; three nieces and nephews and their children and his special pet “Georgie”.

     The family would like to thank Dr. Zalzal, Dr. Bokhil and Potomac Valley Hospital ER Physicians, Nurses and Staff for their wonderful care.

     A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser at 11:00am with Father Thomas Sebastian as celebrant. Inurnment and full Military Honors accorded by the United States Army National Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 13 Honor Guard will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens Columbarium, where he will be laid to rest with his wife Dee.
