KEYSER, WV - Howard Arthur Guerin, 79, of Keyser was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on June 12, 1943 in Shelby, Ohio, to Herbert Russell and Effie (Douds) Guerin.  They moved to Union, WV, where he graduated from Union High School where he played several sports and received many honors.  Howard continued his education at Concord College before enlisting in the United States Air Force – serving during the Viet Nam War.

In the early 70’s, he was the Assistant Administrator at the Methodist Children Home in Burlington, WV.  He did fund raisings for them which lead to him and his father being the Founders of The Apple Harvest Festival.

Howard was employed at Dominion Power Station in Mt. Storm, WV as an Electrical Technician.  Again he did major fund raising for the victims of the 1985 flood, being recognized and nominated for the Presidential Volunteer Award in 1985. He served as a Mineral County Deputy Sheriff and worked as an operator for Keyser Water System.  He loved hunting and fishing especially at Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Keyser Lodge #662 and American Legion Boyce-Houser Post #41, Keyser and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Mildred E. “Millie” (Nelson) Guerin; his two children, Vickie Hall and husband Chad and Nelson Guerin; his two beautiful granddaughters, Brooke and Bridgette Hall, his sister, Caroll Knaggs and niece and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Howard A. Guerin to a charity of one’s choice.

A private family service and Interment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens with Pastor Randy Shoemaker officiating.  An announced celebration of life will be at a later date.
