Herbert Melvin “Anvil” Carnell, III
KEYSER, WV - Herbert Melvin Carnell, III, 63, of Keyser, died on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his residence.
Born on February 7, 1958 in Germany, he was the son of Herbert Melvin Carnell, II and Regina Katherine (Reeves) Hansel.
He graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1976 and was a retired Manager for Burns Industrial Trucks. He was a member of Oakland lodge #192 F. & A.M., Oakland, MD, Ali Ghan Shrine Club in Cumberland, MD and A & A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J., USA.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his step-dad, Donald Keith Hansel, Sr.; his lifetime partner, Joanne Martin; sons, Brent A. Carnell and Matt A. Carnell; siblings, Cathi (Clay), Greg, Troy (Kelly), Harry (Tracey), late Eric (Shawnee), Tori (Mike), Keith (Mike); step daughter, Jessica and grandson, Wyatt. He is also survived by his close friend, Nathan Youngblood; close friend/family and farmhand, Aden Grove and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Jennifer Rosedale with the WVU Medicine Hospice for her special care and comfort.
At Mr. Carnell’s request, his body will be cremated and there will be no viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted in the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
