Herbert Ray Gamble, Jr.

     Keyser, WV – Herbert Ray Gamble, Jr., 73, of Keyser, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

     Born on January 9, 1952 in Sanford, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Herbert Ray Gamble, Sr. and Cora Lee (Jennings) Gamble. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Cora Elizabeth Gamble, adopted son, Floyd “Flip” Ferguson; brothers, Larry Gamble and Calvin Gamble and his sisters, Mary Gamble and Carolyn Gamble. 

     Herbert graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and was a self-employed Mechanic. He was a devoted and loving partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His life treasures were his daughter Cheyeanne and nieces Janiah Layton and Jerni K. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

     Left to cherish in his memory are his partner in life of 31 years, Diane Elaine Owens; daughters, Cheyeanne Gamble, Veronica Gamble, Tiffany Royal and Shri Royal; loving son, Shawn Lockett; sons, Tj royal and Herbert “Bush” Royal; grandchildren, Sierra Lockett, Kahmari Royal and Zy’King Royal; brothers, Wayne Gamble and wife Wanda, James Gamble and wife Denise and Roy Gamble and his sister-in-law, Jessica Smith.

     In respecting Herbert wishes his body was cremated and there will be no services.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
