Helen Loretta Holder
KEYSER, WV – Helen Loretta Holder, 90, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Stonerise Healthcare, Keyser.
Born on April 12, 1932 in Luke, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Roland M. and Veronica R. (Cosgrove) Nofsinger. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William G. Holder on September 21, 1993, an infant sister, Alma Marie Nofsinger and two brothers, Robert “Bob” and Michael “Mike” Nofsinger and step-granddaughter-in-law, Darlene Street.
Helen was a 1952 graduate of Bruce High School and a retired Administrative Officer, Department of Housing & Urban Development, D.C. with 32 years of service. She was a member of The Church of the Assumption, Assumption Ladies Guild, Secretary of the local NARFE, National DAR, Queens Point VFW 6775 Auxiliary, Women of the Moose Chapter 191 and former St. Peters Regent of Catholic Daughters of America.
Left to cherish Helen’s memory are her brother, Harold Dean Nofsinger of Keyser; her sisters, Anne Spriggs and husband Phil of Williamsport, MD, Mary Jo Torbet of Sun City West, AZ, Jean Burton and husband Harry of Keyser, and Sue Smith and husband Glenn of Williamsport. She is also survived by her step daughter, Helen L. Street and husband Jack; her step-grandchildren and families, Jack P. Street, Jr. and his children, Caitlin and Christopher Street; Randy Street and wife Jan and their children, Ryan Street & wife Christa, Eric Street, Logan Street, Justin Street, Lauren Street and Hannah Street; Rhonda Smith and husband Frank and their children, Brooke Plews and husband Jonathan, and Emily Risinger and husband Robert; Loretta Harris and husband Robert and their children, Matthew Harris, Karen Harris and Jacob Harris; Tanya Dorsey and husband Richard and their children, Richard Dorsey, Jr. and wife Chrisy, Natalie Dorsey and Benjamin Dorsey, 5 great-great children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Markwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 1-4 pm with a Christian Wake Service at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the Church of the Assumption on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 11:00 am with Fr. Giles Levasseur as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
