Hazel Borror Obituary

Hazel Katheryn Borror

KEYSER, WV - Hazel Katheryn Borror, 104, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of December 8, 2020.

Hazel was born on July 15, 1916 to the late Blaine and Elizabeth (Poling) Summers.  She married Roy Borror in 1938.  They were married for over 59 years before Roy’s passing in 1997.  During their marriage, they had three beautiful children, Harry Edward, Calvin “Butch”, and Gerald Douglas, all who preceded her into Heaven. She is also preceded by her great grandson, Joshua Brown; her sisters, Edna Fraley and Lucy Saville; her brothers, Fred and Harry and her sister-in-law, Mae Summers.

Hazel worked at Lerner’s in Falls Church, Virginia, until she decided to bookkeep for Roy’s business when they both returned to Keyser.  Hazel committed her life to Christ, and she witnessed to others and her efforts saw souls saved, which she would’ve considered her greatest accomplishment.  Hazel supported missions with prayer and financial needs because missions were near and dear to her heart.  She was a prayer warrior and daily prayed for many missionaries.  Hazel and Roy helped to organize Victory Independent Baptist Church in their own living room and were two of the founding members.  Hazel enjoyed reading the Bible, teaching Sunday school, cooking, visiting friends and going to the beach with Roy.  Hazel loved her family and constantly did everything for them.  Her family did everything in return.

Hazel is survived by her brother,  Raymond “Buddy” Summers; grandchildren, Deborah Watkins and husband David of Florida, Donna Heinrich and Husband Michael of Colorado, Teresa Brown and husband James of Florida,  Erich Borror of West Virginia, and Matthew and Carly Borror of Maryland; great-grandchildren, Lauren Hartman and husband Jack, Caitlin Pfeifle, Jay Brown all of Florida, Breanna Heinrich of Texas, Crystal Kasperson and husband Cory of  Arizona, and Ashley Heinrich of Florida; great great-grandchildren, Emilia Claire and Olivia Jade Hartman; special nieces, Joyce Dawson and Janet Rumer; nephews, Mike Summers, Bobby Summers, Jimmy Summers, as well as others too numerous to mention.  Hazel had many special friends that cared for her in her life including, Delores Bean, Carol Smith, Diane Redman, Janice Martin, Kacie Crawford, and Kathy and Bobby Werner, and  Pastor  and Diann Larry.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Frostburg Village and Egle Nursing and Rehab for providing such wonderful care to Hazel the last couple months. Words can never express our gratitude.

Friends will be received on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00pm.  Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00pm with Pastor Randall Larry officiating. Interment held in Cabin Run Cemetery.

Due to the current health concerns, all guests are required to wear face masks and exercise social distancing at all time.
