Golden Vivan Layton
RAWLINGS, MD – Golden Vivan Layton, 89, of Rawlings, MD, died on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his residence.
Born on March 18, 1932 in Pansy, WV, he was a son of the late William Lee and Myrtle Zola (Alt) Layton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William W. Layton and David F. Layton and his sisters, Bessie F. Champ, Goldie V. Elosser, Myrtle G. “Sis” Layton and Wilma L. Carr.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Anna “Bonnie” (Hawk) Layton; his two daughters, Deborah Layton and husband March Walker of Morgantown, WV and Rhonda Layton of New Creek, WV; his brother, Ralph Layton of Maysville, WV and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Golden was a retired Sheet Metal/HVAC Mechanic from Fairchild Aircraft, Celanese, Keyser Stainless and the US Government at Ft. Mead. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He was a kind gentle soul and will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
A graveside service and interment will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the Maysville Cemetery at 3:00pm with the Reverend Robin Haupt officiating. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
