Gerould Ashton Grubbs
KEYSER, WV - , 87, of Keyser, died on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Keyser Healthcare Center.
Born on March 22, 1936 in Keyser, he was a son of the late Vernon Ashton Grubbs and Georgia Marion (Simmons) Chapman. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Lorenze Carlie Grubbs and wife Barbara; a brother-in-law, Joel Clark and sister-in-law, Linda Lou Shepp.
Gerould was a former Barber at Goldworthy Barber Shop, an owner of a local florist and caretaker of the Presbyterian Church. Served in the United States Marines during the Korean War and was a life time member of the McCoole VFW and Kelly - Mansfield Piedmont Legion Post #52 Piedmont, WV. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene Ann (Bill) Grubbs; his children, Jessica L. Miller and Bennett D. Grubbs and wife Kelly; step-children, Tammy Snedeker and husband John and David Martin and wife Suzanne; two siblings, Vernon Lee Grubbs and wife Rita of New Creek and Joretta Ruth Clark of Amelia Island, FL; six grandchildren, Jacob Miller and wife Stacey, Josie Presutti and companion Dion Fasce', Mackaully Parada and husband Juan, Isabella Grubbs, India Grubbs and Ashton McKenzie and four step-grandchildren, Courtney, Haley, Luke and Streett Martin. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Alani and Lincoln Miller, Eluna and Ezaiah Fasce' and Benjamin Parada and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Gerould Grubbs to the Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
In respecting Gerould wishes, his body was cremated and there will be no public services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
