George William “Bill” Bell

     NEW CREEK, WV – George William “Bill” Bell, 74, of New Creek, died on Thursday, April 01, 2021 at his residence.

     Born on November 11, 1946 in Elk Garden, WV, he was the son of the late Bradley Ervin and Lena Giselle (Puffenberger) Bell. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Ricky A. Bell; sister, Sharon R. Dawson.

     Bill was a retired Chief Petty officer from the U.S. Navy and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a former Campus Police Officer for Potomac State College and retired from Pilgrim’s Pride.  He graduated from Keyser High School and attended the Grace Place Church in Ft. Ashby, WV. He was a member of the VFW Post 3518 Nancy Hanks, Loyal Order of the Moose #622 both of Keyser and VFW Post 6775 Queen’s Point, McCoole, MD.

     Surviving are his loving wife, Vickie Irene Bell; his daughters, Connie Kimble and husband Shawn of Piedmont, WV and Karen Evans and husband Christopher of Keyser; his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored and loved dearly, Felicia Miller and husband Andrew, Kennedy Evans, Michael Faulk, Jessie Evans and Addison Evans and great-grandchildren, Brynsyn Gene Miller, Parker Briar Densock and Jackson Cole Hott. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob Bell and girlfriend Debbie, Jim Bell and Ronald Bell and wife Amelia; his sisters, Anna “Button” Hickey and husband John, Mary Brewer and husband Wayne and Betty Emmert and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 6:00 and 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00pm with the Reverend Randy Crowe officiating.  Interment will follow services in Potomac Memorial Gardens with Military Honors accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #13 Honor Guard.
