Frank Rodney Upton

     Keyser, WV – Frank Rodney Upton, 72, of Keyser, formerly of Burlington, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Garrett Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

     Born on February 2, 1951, he was the son of the late Fred and Vivian (Weikle) Upton.

     Frank was one of the kindest and friendliest folks. He was retired from Monroe County Schools where he served as a teacher and administrator. He was a faithful member of Burlington United Methodist Church, Burlington Ruritan and Masonic Lodge in Union, WV. He loved golf, fishing and spending time with his Grandchildren.  He will be missed beyond measure.

     Lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth (Moffatt) Upton; his children, Greg Upton and wife Melanie of White Sulphur, WV, Kara Bray of Summerville, SC, Erik Schneider and wife Carla of Kirkland, WA, Anna Campbell and husband Clinton of Keyser and Daniel Schneider of Renton, WA; his grandchildren, Dylan and Brandon Upton, Kyla Bray, Lars Schneider, Jack and Lily Campbell; his adopted grandchildren, Mollie Shoemaker and Richie Wiltison and his godson, Lucas Beeseck. He is also survived by his special cousin, Margaret Mann on his Weikle side and many, many loved cousins on the Upton side.

      Friends will be received on Thursday May 18, 2023 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Funeral services will held at the funeral home on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00am with Reverend William Johnson officiating. Interment will follow services in the Church Hill Cemetery in Burlington.

    A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Union United Methodist Church in Union, WV at 2:00pm.
