Eva V. Rollins

     KEYSER, W.Va. – Eva V. Rollins, 95, of 47 Maryland Street, Keyser, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Western Maryland Hospital Center, Hagerstown, MD.   

     Born April 22, 1913 in Keyser, to the late Herbert and Rosa (Harris) Martin, she was a 1931 graduate of Keyser High School and subsequently Potomac State College with high honors. 

     She was preceded in death on October 31, 1981, by her husband, the Reverend. Bernard Rollins, with whom she traveled throughout the United States for 14 years conducting evangelistic campaigns, thereby setting a record for holding the greatest number of evangelistic services in the history of their denomination.  Their joint tour ended with the establishment of their family, but they continued their pastoral service to the Lord in various local Brethren churches.

      A homemaker in Keyser, Mrs. Rollins united with the First Baptist Church of Keyser, which her husband co-founded with the Reverend Paul Jones.

     Surviving are two daughters: Bernadine Rollins of Winchester, VA and Nadine Yutzy and husband, Ronald of Keyser, WV; a sister, Dorothy Lee Carskadon of Romney, WV; five grandchildren: Natalie, David, Valerie, Melissa and Bradley Yutzy; two great-grandchildren: Karla and Amber and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Family and friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home in Keyser on Saturday evening, June 14, 2008 from 6 to 9 p m.  There will also be additional viewing one hour prior to the service which be held Sunday, June 15, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Markwood Funeral Home in Keyser, with the Reverend Bruce McBride of Calvary Baptist Church in Cresaptown, MD officiating to be assisted by Pastor Preston Miller of the Beaver Run Church of the Brethren.

     All are invited to join the interment following the service at Meadow Point Cemetery, Keyser.
