Edward A. Purinton

     KEYSER, W.Va. – Edward A. Purinton, 77, of Stoney Run Road, Keyser, died on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at his residence.

    Born July 14, 1931 in Keyser, he was a son of the late John Purinton and Marie (Michaels) Purinton Leighty.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Purinton, a brother Gerald Purinton and two sisters, Delda Guessfordand Maxine Santmyre.

     Mr. Purinton had been a welder with Siever’s Welding of Keyser.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a United Methodist by faith.

     Surviving are his wife Levonna Mae (Smith) Purinton; his son Robert Allan Purinton and wife Debbie of Capon Bridge; his three daughters, Debra K. Byrd and husband Richard of Petersburg, Brenda Mitchell of Antioch and Dianne Feaster and husband Thomas of Dawson, MD.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jeff Greco, Michelle Johnson, Tara Simmons, Jessica Purinton, Jeremy Purinton, Witney Purinton, Bailee Mitchell and Joshua Mitchell and a great-grandson, Cody Greco.

     Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Gwen Wolford officiating.

     Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.  Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.

Rev. Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R.  as Celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser with military honors.
