Dorothy Louise Kasmier
KEYSER, WV – Dorothy Louise Kasmier, 81, of Keyser, former resident of the Potomac Heights Apartments (Hi-Rise), passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Mountain City Rehab Center in Frostburg, MD.
Born on June 21, 1943 in Piedmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Arthur Kasmier and Emma K. (Kantor) Kasmier. She is also preceded in death by her infant sister.
Dorothy graduated from Keyser High School and the Catherman’s Business School. She dedicated much other professional life to public service, working as a secretary for the Pennsylvania State Police. In addition to her administrative roles, she also worked for Potomac Valley hospital and as a seamstress.
She was a Methodist by faith and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Left to cherish in her memories are her brother, Charles A. Kasmier and wife Carolyn of Powhatten, VA and her sisters, Jane Bland of Oldman, FL, Mary Lee MacDonald and husband Richard of Barton, MD, Christine Carole Wilcox and husband Dwight of Michigan, Sophia “Patty” Burnside and husband Edward and Esther V. “Vicky” Purdy and husband Earnest “Earnie” both of Keyser. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved so much.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 1pm with Reverend Lauren A. Godwin officiating. Interment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
