Donald Lee “Dutch” Bolyard

     Keyser, WV – Donald “Dutch” Lee Bolyard, 89, of Keyser, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Windy Hills Village in Kingwood, WV.

     Born July 17, 1933, in Marquess, WV, he was a son of the late Ervin and Ruth (Knotts) Bolyard. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Hoy H. and William “Dick” Bolyard and sister, Avis H. Owens.

     Dutch was a 1951 Graduate of Rowlesburg High School. After graduation he had a professional baseball tryout with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He worked at Montgomery Ward in Baltimore, MD prior to enlisting in the Air Force serving from 1952 to 1956. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Alpha Portland Cement Company; Cumberland & Allegheny Gas Company, Columbia Gas of West Virginia and Mountaineer Gas Company – where he retired in 1995 as Customer Serviceman ‘A” with 38 years of service.

     Dutch was active in Little League and Pony League Baseball and was a coach, manager and past President of the Kingwood Youth League. He was a past Master of Rowlesburg Lodge #165 AF & AM and lifetime member of the American Legion post #71, Oakland, MD and of the VFW post 6775, McCoole, MD.

     Surviving are his three sons, Michael Bolyard and wife Glenna, Paul Bolyard and wife Laura and Dean Bolyard and wife Kim He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Jedidiah Bolyard, Jeremiah Bolyard, Dillon Bolyard, Danielle Huber and husband Chris, Emma Bolyard and Wyatt Bolyard; his six great grandchildren, Evelyn Bolyard, Scarlett Bolyard, Amelya Bolyard, Bella Huber, Kalli Huber and Carson Huber; two nephews and two nieces.

     At his request, his body has been cremated. There will be no viewing or memorial service.

     Arrangements have been entrusted in the Markwood funeral home.
