Donald G. Parker
Donald G. Parker, 79, of Romney, died on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones at his bedside.
Born on July 12, 1941 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Edgar A. Parker, Sr. and Mildred M. (Basye) Parker. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edger Parker, Jr. and Roy Parker and his sisters, Dorsia Westfall, Betty K. Barbarito and Menona (Nonie) Hawkins. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Donald was a retired Coal Miner and a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Kelly Mansfield Post #52 American Legion, VFW Post #3518 Nancy Hanks, Keyser and a lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans of America #0172 Cumberland.
Surviving are his loving wife Ellen M. (Doman) Parker; his children, Anthony Talbert, Rose E. Shewbridge and husband Harry, Eileen Talbert, Steve Talbert, Jr., Brenda Mellotte, Ryan Winkler, Troy Winkler and wife Corrie and Chris Winkler and his fur baby, “Tiny”. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:00 am with Reverend Steffan Carr officiating. Interment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser with Military Honors being accorded.
