Donald Ray Crossland
MARTINSBURG, WV – Donald Ray Crossland, 78, formerly of Rawlings, MD, died on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the VA hospital of Martinsburg, WV.
Born on May 13, 1943 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Hardy H. and Ruth (Llewellyn) Crossland. He is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Crossland and former wife, Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Tucker) Crossland.
Donald graduated from Bruce High School class of 1961 and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He attended Danville Brethren Church and was a former employee of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company.
Surviving are his children, Shelly L. Leatherman and husband Monte of Keyser and David S. Crossland and partner Shane Brown of Martinsburg; his granddaughters, Brittany Ann Crossland and husband Christopher Lafferty of Westernport, MD and Sierra Addison Hester of Keyser; a step grandson, Preston T. Leatherman; brothers, David Crossland of Colorado, Fred Crossland and Dale Crossland both of Rawlings and two sisters, Lois Martin of Virginia and Judy Staggs of Ohio. He is also survived by his great- grandchildren, Ashlynn, Addison, Braxten, Caysen, Easton, Emberleigh, Jamisen and Hazeleigh Lafferty and Amira and Bryland Leatherman.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 6:00 -8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 am with Fr. Thomas A. Sebastian officiating. Interment will follow services in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser with Military Honors being accorded by the U. S. Air Force National Honor Guard.
