Domenick “Mick” Greco

     KEYSER, WV -  Domenick “Mick” Greco, 85, of Keyser, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at his residence.

     Born on June 13, 1935 in Rawlings, MD, he was the son of the late Vincenzo “Jim” and Nora (Lanam) Greco.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five sisters, Mary Greco, Katherine “Kathy” Shingler, Carmela Klosterman, Marguerite Michael and Rena “Renie” Barclay and five brothers, Larry, Frank, Johnny and two baby infants. He is also preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Darin “Buke” Fertig. Mick was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

     Mick graduated from Piedmont High School in 1953. He attended Potomac State College, after which he enlisted in the United States Army for three years, serving during the Korean War. He worked at Westvaco Luke Mill, retiring from there after 33 years. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church of Keyser and former member of the Keyser JC’s.

     He loved eating good food and spending time with his family. He was a brilliant, wise man, with a good heart. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

     Mick leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 and a half years, Sue (Melber) Greco; daughters, Suzan and husband Mark Grieco of Germantown, MD and Lisa and husband Roger Schurg of Grantsville, MD and his grandchildren, John Amoruso and wife Aubrey, Dustin Fertig, Andrew and Katherine Grieco. He also left behind five great-grandchildren, Briana and Camden Amoruso, Maaziah, Natalyah and Roman Fertig.

     The Family would like to leave a special thanks to his caregiver Ciera Amoruso.

     Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Domenick Greco to the Assumption Catholic Church, 34 James Street, Keyser, WV 26726.

     Due to the current health concerns, a private family service will be held at the Markwood Funeral Home with Fr. Thomas Sabastian, CST officiating. All family members are required to wear a face mask and exercise social distancing at all times.  Interment will be held in Potomac Memorial Gardens.
