Debra Jean Taylor
KEYSER, WV – Debra Jean Taylor, 68, of Keyser, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at her residence.
Born on January 1, 1957 in Cumberland, MD she was the daughter of Mary Jane (Cramer) Jones and the late William Edward Jones. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by a sister, Aimee Lorayne Jones.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Keyser High School, Class of 1975. She attended Potomac State College and Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology. She was a Medical Lab Technician for Potomac Valley Hospital for over 30 years and a faithful member of the Fountain United Brethren Church where she served as the former treasurer for many years.
Debra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed spending time with the people she loved. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Left to cherish in her memory in addition to her mother, Mary Jane, are her loving husband, Clinton Taylor; two amazing daughters, Ashlee Newlin and husband Geoff and Tracy Gough and husband Brandon both of Keyser; her four adored grandchildren, Tucker Newlin, Harper Newlin, Charlie Gough and Hattie Gough and her brothers, Mark Jones and wife Jeanne of Keyser and Jim Jones and wife Kimberly of Stephen City, VA. Brothers-in-law, Larry Taylor and wife Deborah of Keyser and Steve Taylor and wife Donna of Keyser. She is also survived by her uncle and aunt, Jack and Joanna Cramer; a first cousin, Rhonda Beeman and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Markwood Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the Fountain United Brethren Church on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00am with Reverend Lucas Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held in Cabin Run Cemetery.
