Dean Fox Obituary

Dean T. Fox

KEYSER, WV - Dean T. Fox, 69, of Keyser, died at home surrounded by family under the care of Mountain Hospice on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Born on September 10, 1954 in Leesburg, VA to parents, the late Elmer and Claudia (Everhart) Fox.  Also preceded on by his sister, Jackie Moler (Glenn); nephew, Glenn Moler and his sister-in-law, Sue Price.

Dean was a graduate of Loudoun Valley High School and attended Virginia Tech. He was employed with CSX Transportation for 36 years, where he retired as a Carman. Dean was a recognized national mathematics scholar and he continued to challenge everyone around him with random math equations, which he always had an answer for.  Dean enjoyed going to local auctions to add to his collection of antiques – any new person got a detailed tour of the house, which is full of his prized antiques. Dean had a unique way of looking at things and was always a go-to for any of your handyman projects. He was a jack-of-all-trades but being a family man was his greatest skill and he continued teaching everyone around him until the very end.

Dean is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Michelle (Price) Fox of 43 years. Daughter, Courtney Fox (Jason); son, Colin Fox (Khara) and two special grandchildren, Madeline and Noah, who he thought the world of. Sisters, Judy Fox of Lovettsville, VA Dare Riley (Tommy) of Jefferson, MD; brother, Chad Fox of Harpers Ferry, WV and a very special cousin, Pam Potts. Brother-in-law, Larry Price (Judy) of Charlotte, NC. Numerous nieces and nephews. And a special canine friend, Neiko, who he loved so much!

The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the many people who cared for Dean throughout his illness including Davita Renal Center of Keyser, the compassionate staff at UPMC Western Maryland, and the local EMS providers.
